Who we are

CoachBoost is a mobile app and website for sports coaches, players and their families. It is operated by Boost Sports Technologies LLC, a New Hampshire limited liability company ("CoachBoost," "we," "us"). This policy covers the CoachBoost apps for iOS and Android, the website at getcoachboost.com, and our related support and email communications (together, the "Service").

Coaches create a Program (for example, a high school or club program) with one or more teams, and invite players, staff and parents to join. Much of the information in CoachBoost is created by coaches and team members for their Program.

Information we collect

Information you or your Program provide

  • Account and profile: name, email address, password (stored by our authentication provider, never by us in readable form), role (coach, assistant coach, manager, player or parent), and an optional profile photo.
  • Roster details: team membership, jersey number, position and staff role, as entered by you or your coach.
  • Program content: Program and team names, team colors, program standards, weekly focus, drills, practice plans and templates, and images you upload to drills or announcements.
  • Schedules: practices, games and events, locations, arrival times and event notes.
  • Attendance: attendance status for events (for example on time, late, excused or unexcused), recorded by coaches.
  • Availability: whether a player is available, limited or unavailable for an upcoming event, with an optional short note, set by the player or staff. This is a scheduling status, not a medical record.
  • Goals and development: player goals, action plans, progress updates, check-ins, self-evaluations and self-reported confidence ratings, and coach feedback and observations.
  • Evaluations: coach evaluations of practices and games, and staff-only Coach Prep notes.
  • Recognition: recognitions given by coaches or teammates and the standard they relate to.
  • Messages and announcements: direct messages, team and Program announcements, and read status.
  • Family connections: the link between a parent or guardian account and a player account, created with a Family Code the player shares and confirms.
  • Support requests: what you send us when you contact support, including deletion requests.

Billing information

  • Subscriptions are purchased by a Program's billing owner. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store full card numbers.
  • We keep subscription records needed to run the Service: the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, plan and billing interval, status, trial and renewal dates, and which account is the billing owner.

Information collected automatically

  • Push notification and device identifiers: push tokens for your device, a push-service identifier linked to your account, your notification preference, and tags such as your role and active team so notifications reach the right people.
  • Technical and diagnostic data: app version, device type and operating system, and performance measurements (such as screen load and network request timing). This helps us keep the app fast and reliable.
  • Security logs: sign-in and request records containing a pseudonymous account identifier, used to detect fraud and abuse.
  • Website analytics: our website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies, and Google Analytics, which uses cookies to measure which pages and links visitors use. If you arrive from a link that carries campaign tags (such as utm_source), we keep those tags in your browser for up to 30 days so we can tell which of our outreach brought you here. We turn off Google's advertising features and signals, and we do not load Google Analytics for visitors whose browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal.
  • Advertising measurement on our website: our public marketing pages (the home, features, pricing and free-kit pages) use the Meta Pixel to measure and improve our own ads on Facebook and Instagram. It tells Meta that a browser visited one of those pages, viewed pricing or features, signed up for the free kit or launch notice, or clicked to try the sample team or visit an app store, along with standard browser details and Meta's cookies. We do not send your email address, name or anything you type, and the Meta Pixel is never used in the app, in the web Coach Console, or on the sample team, support or legal pages. We do not load it for visitors whose browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal.

We do not use the Service to show advertising, and we do not use advertising trackers in the app or the web Coach Console.

How we use information

  • To provide the Service: create accounts, connect people to their Programs and teams, show each person the information their role allows, and deliver messages and notifications.
  • To process subscriptions, free trials, renewals, cancellations and Program ownership transfers.
  • To send service emails, such as password resets, practice plan PDFs a coach chooses to send to staff, and important account or policy notices.
  • To provide support and respond to requests.
  • To keep the Service secure, prevent misuse, and diagnose and fix problems.
  • To measure app performance, in aggregate, so we can improve it.
  • To comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell personal information, and nothing from inside the app or Coach Console is shared for advertising. The only advertising-related sharing is the Meta Pixel on our public marketing pages, described above, which some state laws treat as "sharing" for advertising. You can opt out of it as described under Your choices and rights.

CoachBoost displays what players and coaches enter. It does not diagnose or assess health, mental health, motivation or confidence. Confidence ratings are self-reported by players.

Who can see what inside CoachBoost

Visibility depends on role and Program membership:

  • Coaches and staff in a Program can see the roster, schedules, attendance, availability, player goals and development records, evaluations and messages for their Program, according to their staff role.
  • Staff-only content, such as Coach Prep notes and coach evaluations, is not shown to players or parents.
  • Players see team information, published practice plans, their own goals, feedback and recognition, and messages addressed to them.
  • Parents and guardians see team schedules and announcements, messages addressed to them, and the goal and recognition information of athletes they are linked to.
  • Recognition and announcements are visible to the members of the team or Program they were posted to.

Service providers

We use trusted providers to run CoachBoost. They process information on our behalf, under contracts that limit their use of it to providing their services to us.

Other sharing

  • Legal reasons: when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law or legal process, or is needed to protect the safety, rights or property of our users, the public or CoachBoost.
  • Business transfers: if CoachBoost is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
  • With your direction: for example, when a coach sends a practice plan PDF to staff.

Youth athletes

CoachBoost is used by school, club and youth sports programs, and many players are under 18. We take that seriously:

  • CoachBoost is not directed to children under 13, and players must be at least 13 to create their own account. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will delete it.
  • Players under 18 should use CoachBoost with the permission of a parent or guardian. Parents can link to their athlete's account to see schedules, announcements and their athlete's goals and recognition.
  • We collect only what a player needs to take part in their team. We do not show advertising, sell information, or build marketing profiles of players.
  • A parent or guardian can contact support@getcoachboost.com to review, correct or delete their child's information.

Schools and programs that use CoachBoost are responsible for meeting their own obligations, such as obtaining any required permissions from families. Contact us if your school needs information about how CoachBoost handles student-athlete data.

Retention

We keep information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service to your Program. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it. Specifically:

  • Program content stays with the Program while it exists, so the team's history remains available to its coaches and members.
  • Subscription and payment records are kept as long as needed for accounting, tax and legal purposes. Stripe keeps its own records as the payment processor.
  • Security logs containing a pseudonymous account identifier are kept for up to 90 days.
  • Backups made for disaster recovery are overwritten on our providers' regular backup cycles.

Account deletion

You can delete your account in the app from Tools → Profile → Delete Account. If you can't use the app, request deletion on the web or email support@getcoachboost.com. We complete verified web and email requests within 30 days.

When an account is deleted:

  • Your name, email address, profile photo and other personal profile details are removed, and your sign-in account is deleted.
  • Information about you as a player, such as your goals, goal updates and reviews, check-ins, self-evaluations, confidence and progress ratings, attendance records, coach feedback and observations about you, and recognition you received, is deleted.
  • Your team memberships, family links, notification preferences, notifications and push identifiers are deleted.
  • Shared team content you created, such as messages, announcements, practice plans, drills, schedule events, evaluations, and feedback or recognition you gave, stays with the team so its history makes sense, but is attributed to "Deleted user" instead of your name.
  • We keep a minimal, de-identified account record so that shared history and audit records stay consistent. It contains no name, email or other contact details.
  • Subscription and payment records are kept as long as required for accounting, tax and legal purposes, with the name and email removed from our copy.
  • Security logs containing a pseudonymous account identifier are kept for up to 90 days, then deleted.

Before an account can be deleted, a Program owner must transfer the Program to another coach, so a team is never left without an owner. If you pay for a subscription that still renews, you'll be asked to stop the renewal first so you aren't charged again.

Your choices and rights

  • Access and correction: view and update your profile in the app, or ask us for a copy of your information or to correct it.
  • Deletion: delete your account as described above.
  • Notifications: turn push notifications on or off in the app or in your device settings.
  • Advertising measurement: turn on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser and our website will not load the Meta Pixel. You can also email us to opt out, and manage ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings.
  • Email: unsubscribe from our newsletter with the link in any newsletter email. Service emails about your account will still be sent.
  • State privacy rights: depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as to know, access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them. Email us to make a request. We will verify the request using information associated with your account, and an authorized agent may make a request on your behalf with proof of authorization.

Security

We protect information with encryption in transit, access controls that limit each person to their own Programs and role, server-side handling of billing and sensitive operations, and monitoring for misuse. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a security incident affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service changes. We will post the new version here with a new date, and for material changes we will also let you know in the app or by email.
